Apps and clients
Rivets has four clients. The web, Mac, and iOS apps are for people: create tasks, watch and steer agents, review changes, and merge. The CLI is the worker that runs agents. Your account’s preferences, such as agent defaults, send key, and sidebar order, sync across all of them.
Web
Open app.rivets.dev in a current browser.
- Keyboard-first, with a command palette on
⌘K. - Dark and light themes.
- Every keyboard shortcut can be rebound. Press
⌘/to see and customize them. - Browser tabs in a task open as new tabs in your browser.
The web app cannot run a worker. To run agents on the same machine, install the CLI or use the Mac app.
Mac
Requires macOS 15 or later. Download it from downloads.frontier.sh/rivets/Rivets-latest.dmg.
- A worker out of the box. The app includes a background worker, so your Mac can take tasks as soon as you sign in. Configure it under Settings › This Mac. See Connect a worker.
- Project tree in the sidebar and a
⌘Kcommand palette for tasks, chats, organizations, and window commands. - Inspector with Files, Changes, Checks, and terminals.
- Open in editor and Reveal in Finder for files in a task on this Mac.
- Native browser tabs inside a task.
- Fast local reads. When a task runs on this Mac’s own worker, files and diffs are read straight from disk.
- Notifications when an agent run finishes.
- Automatic updates through Sparkle. The bundled worker updates with the app.
The Mac app is a single window. Reopening it from the Dock brings the existing window forward.
iPhone and iPad
One universal app for iOS and iPadOS 18 or later, distributed through TestFlight and the App Store.
- iPhone uses tab navigation, including an Assistant tab.
- iPad uses an adaptive multi-pane workspace, with the assistant in a sheet.
- Create tasks and conversations, watch agents live, steer, cancel, review changes, open terminals, and publish pull requests.
- Push notifications when an agent run finishes.
The iOS app observes and controls work. It never runs a worker.
CLI
The rivets CLI runs a worker on macOS, Linux, or Windows. It does not create tasks or browse work. See Connect a worker and the CLI reference.

Leaving review comments and approvals on GitHub from inside Rivets is not supported in any client yet.

Your browser may keep ⌘W, ⌘,, or ⌘. for itself. If a shortcut never reaches Rivets, rebind it.
Sending messages
Under Settings › Keyboard › Send with, choose whether Return sends a message and Shift-Return starts a new line, or Return starts a new line and only ⌘ Return sends. ⌘ Return sends in both modes.
